What does pop3 mean?
POP (Post Office Protocol) is a protocol designed to allow single user computers to retrieve electronic mail from a POP server. The POP server might be a computer with a permanent Internet connection whereas its clients might only connect to it occasionally, e.g. by modem. There are three versionsan POP3 is the latest one. Later versions are NOT compatible with earlier ones. It is still the most widely used protocol to transfer mails from remote hosts to the clients' computer but IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is becoming more popular day by day which allows a client to access and manipulate electronic mail messages on a server. With IMAP you can access your mails stored in a different folders but in POP3 you can only access your mails stored in your inbox folder!
